Texas

Glad he is doing better now! Howdy neighbor! :frow I live between Longview and Henderson. Welcome to BYC and the Texas thread! You can try this feed, Texas Natural Feed. I don't think it's organic, but it is non GMO and non Soy. Lone Star Farm Supply on Lone Star St. in Henderson carries it. Also Horaney's in Longview carries it. That is what I'm using for my chicks. This is their site: http://www.texasnaturalfeeds.com/ Lisa, here's my baby that is similiar to yours. She is now pushing 3 weeks and has no tail feathers yet. [/quote Howdy! Thank you for the suggestion. That store is literally right down the road. We live behind the star! I drove past there today, but they were closed. Our coop is supposed to be delivered today and our neighbor is giving us four of her girls. We have no idea what we are doing. We moved here in October from Florida. My husband wanted to do this and after tasting fresh eggs I gave in!

Raining here. I am glad I got a few lawn chores done. I finally got the back porch washed off this morning. Silly girls have already left me some "gifts". I think we are going to have to start keeping them in their chickenyard more. They are not going to like that.

Good evening folks. I think we might have one of the two eggs our little bantam (Belle) is brooding. The're not hers, they are big eggs from our big red hens. Only been six days but pretty sure we can see shadow and air sac. the other one is still clear. She is such a good little hen. She raised four last fall. We had to move her to her own pen so the other big hens would quit laying eggs under her. I wish a couple more of my hens would start wanting to set. i'm getting some fertile eggs, just not enough hens. Guess they will know when it;s time. Meanwhile fingers crossed one is better than none.

OK that's totally cool. Don't think that would work for us,some of my girls like to stay out late. LOL they'd get locked out for sure. I just had to get one back in the house just now. She was getting rained on a little but wanted to stay out anyway.

Gertie is a production red. She was so funny. She followed me to within 20 feet of the door. Then (just like a kid) had to keep stopping to scratch just one more spot. Took her four stops and 5 minutes to cover twenty feet. Meanwhile I'm getting wet and so was she. Love my chickens.
