What you can't see is the interlocking hook that is attached to the light and onto the pole, It can not come off no matter what. The one end of the pole is attached to a ..... well it isn't a ladder but it is a shelf type thing that was build just for this and the other side that you can see also attaches to the other "ladder type shelf". But it had not been moved back in from the barn at the point when this picture was taken. My son was helping me move them back in and get it all set back up. I used the stool and can to go a head and get the lamp up to try get the temp back up as he was trying to take everything down and put back up. It was an ordeal but I'm glad they are back in the house. The temp is just more stable and we can rest better. LOL Now that it is all back in place, it is all very secure and safe. With the people in this family we don't leave anything up for chance. LOLI just looked closely at your picture--that looks really unsafe! All it takes is a little bump and your heat lamp is in the box causing a house fire! The dog could do it when you are not around or worse, at night when you are sleeping. The dogs looks pretty interested, too. The "rule" for heat lamps is for them to be fixed at two different places, not just with the cord. Please make it more secure! I used two ladders and a pole when I used a heat lamp.
