I seriously love these chicks!!! They look like they're walking around on stilts! I need to stop ordering hatchery surprises/mixed assortments of chickens because I keep falling in love with more breeds than I have room for...

Are they Cochins?? I have a few cochins coming next month...the hubs LOVES them! They are so cute, but terrible egg layers.

Here is a few more pics of the chicks the wife came holding asking can she have them. What man can tell his wife no. If anyone can take a guess as to what bantams these are feel free to guess I don't know.

My standard cochins have always laid well

Mine never has (LF Buff)....she will sit in the nest and pretend, though! It's funny, because after a while she'll do her little egg song and nuttin', but she sure is proud of it! :D

The grey/blue might be self blue old English. That's the theory I'm going with on ours.

When we brought them home

Now

One has a lot less of a comb, I'm trying to find a good picture.

ETA:
I knew I had a picture of the other one. Since they were also part of the assorted bantams, I'm not 100% sure what they are. With the comb difference I'm leaning towards a cockerel and pullet but we had turkens fool us last year and both were pullets. Of course, they could be different breeds even...

We have a bantam cochin from last year and she took and entire year to lay her first egg...she is laying 4 or so a week now though. I'm so torn on if I want to keep them or not...well, I know I WANT to...its more should I.
