This is DH latest project...it's redneck AC for the chickens
You put a gallon milk jug of water, frozen inside and turn the fan on. it's amazing the air coming out is about 50* This cost about $25 because we went with a 12 volt fan. It runs on batteries, solar panel or wall adapter, so will have back up in case of power outage. Regular fans are cheaper. If you want to try building one go to Utube or google and search redneck air conditioner or redneck AC. There are all kinds of designs, some are bigger. Going to build another with high velocity fan and will be using in the chicken coop.

Very nice, I may have to try to make 1

Our ducks are eating holes in the ground. Its horrible. I will try to get a picture tomorrow. They make a huge mess with their water and like to drink/play in the puddles when we're cleaning up the run. It looks like I'm going to have to use the tiller again to smooth it all out. Its ridiculous. I told the kids we could keep 2 of the 4 but one of their favorites is the main culprit! I've had the 2 listed on Craigslist since before Easter but haven't had anyone seriously ask about them. They've got to go, they are causing to much work. I wish we didn't live in the middle of no where, a very populated middle of no where, and it was close enough to meet someone to give them to! My husband wants to process the 2 we aren't keeping but they are nothing but feathers and fluff right now. Oh, and not friendly at all. They run from us anytime we get near them but we've handled them even more than the chickens!

I just hope that you don't lose your layers. I would feel kinda bad if the ducks are the ones giving you that 1/2 eggs a day and not your chickens. If you still get eggs and need to know which chicken, remember the food coloring trick! It works great on water fowl and see no reason you can't paint a chicken's fanny to see which egg came from who
Don't worry if you end up with our layer(s)...ours will come of age & lay in due time.

Once they start laying, I think I'll do the food coloring trick. Heck, if we're still only getting our 1/2 eggs per day, I might dye all their butts to see who our layer is.

Oh wow, I am sorry. No one will take them? How much are you asking for them, or are you giving them away?
