I have an Americauna and an EE here is a pic of the EE...

I'll be back in a minute, going to try to get a pic of the Americauna!!

Here's the pics of my Ameicauna along with the difference in the size of their eggs. The large one comes from the grey and the smaller one comes from Cricket, our Americauna. The grey EE is named KFC!!! Long story behind that name.

We were able to save the little drenched chick. It spent the night tucked in a coffee can with some hay and paper towel on top of a heating pad. We were going to try to find chicks but DH suggested just take the 3 red chicks and let Becka keep the yellow ones. So the little one is getting it's "legs" and watching the others eat and drink and trying a bit itself. Have lamp for the night time, they're in the dog crate so should be plenty warm. Crisis averted.

Yesterday was coming out day for the gang. They are now 7 wks old. They pretty much stay in the coop. A couple have ventured into the yard, but not far. Our roo Abraham is being a stinker. I know it's the pecking order thing, but he gets rough. No bloodshed though. DH has had to intervene a few times to protect them. Built them their own roost but they moved back into the little cage on their own so that's where they spent the night. They'll figure it all out, in their own time.

Belle and Speedy got their freedom yesterday too. Speedy is doing great and has fully recovered from whatever bug he had. They found themselves a roost and snuggled together even if he is too big to get under her wing, tucking his head under was good enough.

This is my "Blue Wheaten Ameraucana" Supposed to lay blue egg. She has a pea comb and a beard just cant see them in this pic. Green legs. This was 3 -4 weeks ago.

I call the both EE's because I am sure neither is really what they say but just mutts.

That's all right, I will find them somewhere. There was all kinds and breeds!! Except, of course, what I was looking for.LOL In fact, there was mostly poultry, alot of bantams. They had a great turnout too.

I just had to make a compromise with my wife. She went to trade days with me this morning. Although she won't admit it, she got bit by the "chicken bug"!!She fell in love with some Lavender Orpingtons, and I almost bought them for her. The compromise is this, I wont get anymore birds until I find 4 Lavender Orpingtons about the age range I want and see if she wants them, at the right price of course.

Most Americaunas are mutts due to trying to breed the gene that kills the Auracauna in chick stage out. At least that is what I read. They are beautiful. Wish you the best with them!!
