And my babies are finally 6 weeks old and getting so big so far it looks like I got four roos so idk what I will do with them depends on how pretty they are. As for the rest looks like it is time to start working on a new coop for them they are out growing there pen

Glad you got a fence up between you and the creepy, stalker neighbors. Now you need to post No Tresspassing and Tresspassers will be Shot signs! :lau

Just finished sending 4 cockerels to freezer camp. Should make my yard more peaceful. Those 4 were causing lots of mayhem, attacking and injuring hens and trying to mate the 5 week old goslings. I just couldn't take it anymore. I believe I still have a couple slow maturing cockerels in the flock. Since they haven't caused trouble yet, they get to live a little longer. :p

How did the milk carton method work? Or did you try something else?

It worked well. We do need some sharper knives though. But yeah, the milk jug held the chickens in place while they bled out. No flopping around spraying blood everywhere. I like it, hubby says he wants to try the hatched method (he has never slaughtered chickens before this was his first time). I guess he wants to try all methods before choosing 1 over the others. Lol. My new defeathering pot was great, loved it.
