Texas

Hey Austin area folks. Looks like we're under a Severe Thunderstorm Watch this evening. Stay safe out there.

Also, anyone down near Corpus...looks like there is a Tornado Watch near you. Be careful out there.

Everyone else, please check your local weather and watch out for the storms swirling about.
one was spotted by the dam west of Burnet

I just realized something!! I am the only male on this whole 24 acres!! I am surrounded by women. I have 8 hens 3 female dogs, 2 female cats, and my wife. I am either the luckiest man in the world or the man in the most danger!!!        I'm going to go with the luckiest!!!!     The other is too horrifying!!!     :lau

Lol, and they all know where you sleep! We are nearly as bad. We think we have 24 hens, 1 rooster, 1 confirmed gander out of 8 geese, 1 drake and 6 female ducks, 6 female cats, 4 female dogs and 2 boy dogs, my 2 sons and my hubby. My daughter leaves for college so can't count her anymore, lol.

You guys must be getting hit by the storms that hit us earlier today. Careful, they were pouring hard and fast. Batten down the hatches and brace for impact. There is a tropical storm/hurricane in the Gulf sending us all this crazy rain. Or there was when I last checked. All my lovelies are as secure as I can make them in their chicken coop. Lowered the rain guards over their windows and put everybody in there. So my chicken coop is currently housing 25 chickens, 8 geese, and 7 ducks (the ducklings are in a makeshift nursery with Ebony). The outside cat that is tame is locked in my hubby's shop, the dogs are all in the house and we are hunkering down for a long miserable week of this crap. Glad I stocked my human and animal first aid kits before this.

That's why I sleep with 1 eye open. LOL. Sorry I couldn't make it down yesterday, got a late start, and needed to get back before the bad weather hit. Had to get my ladies dried in. We got 4 inches here. Has your flood receded yet??

Mostly, but the goose coop is still flooded, as is my back yard by my septic. My septic is still working but it won't be long before I lose it to the rains. We get pounded too much more and we won't be able to flush the toilet, gross. My dryer is still damp, but the water back there is mostly gone. God willing I hope to get some laundry done tomorrow, it drains away from my back yard so it won't cause problems. I think I am giving up on having a nice garden this year. We are getting hit with way too much rain. The ground is so soggy the plants are toppling over, roots out of the soil. All I can do now is brace for the rain bands heading our way and hope my family, animals, and property don't sustain any damage. Or at least not too much damage.

Be safe guys!

Just looked at the radar. Looks like you will get a squall or 2 but not as bad as it has been.I just looked outside. We have blue skies at the moment, but according to the radar, we will get hit again about 2:00am.
