He's secretly a sweetheart. ;)

I have just recently realized from seeing your photos how much younger you are than how I perceived you to be judging on your posts. In other words, you come off very mature.
That's a good thing. I say this because you look to be my daughter's age and I get corrected a lot for mis-using a phrase. She'LL think it means, something totally opposite.

Well thank you! I think it's due to my need to be in charge since childhood. No one takes you seriously unless they think you're 20, not 14.

Don't worry. Lots of people assume, even in person, that I'm in my mid 30's based on how I portray myself. I may shock some of you by telling my true age... So I won't. Let's just say John and I are closer to the quarter century mark. On the low end.

Also, being a manager I can't relate to employees. Most of them are just a few years my junior. A good portion older. My age can't reflect my decision.

This is precious!!!!

Incuview Update 8/7
Removed one egg leaking yesterday.  It was rotten, that leaves 21 for the hatch.
Just came in at 5:45 two chicks hatched and I see another peeped. Nineteen to go.

Woohoo! That's better hatch results than last time isn't it?

Incuview Update 8/8/2015
Six chicks hatched. Seven chicks pipped and died during the night. They were big beautiful chicks, I am guessing to much humidity during the incubation period which means the humidity gauge is way off. I broke six more pipped chicks out of the shell and left them in the incubator, hope some of them make it. The other eggs I will open tonight or tomorrow if they do not pip and see what happened. Your opinions are welcome.

City of Abilene is going to be hearing arguments and public comments about loud roosters in the city limits. Proposed change is that they can only have roosters on properties that exceed 1 acre in size and then some stuff about noise ordinances. It has only become a problem since they began new developments and people in those areas have started keeping chickens on those little residential lots. Older and more established areas with larger lots on the north side of town don't have the problem with complaints but the new ordinance will be city wide. Glad we moved from there into the country.
