Ug oh, not made for guineas, lol.Snakes get caught in the bird netting. We had one come into the garage and get tangled in a roll of it. But you have to make sure the birds don't get stuck. Our idiot guineas are forever getting trapped in the aviary netting that covers our turkey pen because it hangs down to the ground.

We have actually caught snakes with our roll just laying around. One day I found a garter snake it it and felt horrible. I made my husband help me cut the thing loose, it took forever, lol![]()
The bad thing about the netting is you have to cut the snakes out (dead or alive.) Then you have to replace the netting. And, it is probably frightening for the ducks inside when a snake is alive and hanging in it. BUT IT WORKS![]()
please keep me informed, even if it's just a FaceBook page ya'll have to sell your eggs and chicks....
Someone also suggested carpet tack strips. I guess you would put them all around the pen where the snake would have to cross it to get to the animals. Interesting.....I'm still looking for a 'friendly' picture. Unfortunately all that I'm finding show dead snakes. Google bird netting baffle. Basically you bunch it up and kinda make a layer or two and staple to the bottom of the pen... or bunch some up and wrap around the legs of the pen.
Feed stores usually have a snake deterrent powder. But, that lasts only as long as the next rain.Someone also suggested carpet tack strips. I guess you would put them all around the pen where the snake would have to cross it to get to the animals. Interesting.....
Very nice. Lots of work.
We have used Ortho Snake-B-Gone before and it does work but, like you say, come the rain and it just B-Gone.Feed stores usually have a snake deterrent powder. But, that lasts only as long as the next rain.
The problem with sulfur is that it is poison. Things like the Ortho product are safe around animals and kids. They work by confusing the snakes sense of smell which confuses the snake and it slithers away. Also, the snake is still around, just not in the area where you spread the product.@MandyJ
Someone suggested sulpher to me last year to keep snakes out. Might be cheaper than Ortho. Haven't tried it yet.![]()
