True I remember some warm days during deer season last years and the mosquitos were tearing me up. I can only imagine what it would be like with mild weather this year. I am going to have to bathe in skin so soft by Avon, it works better than Deet or Citronela.

I need a good insect repellent. I had been using Cutter Skinsation but it sure isn't working on this mess of mosquitoes. Are you using the Avon Skin so Soft Insect Repellent or the regular Skin so Soft?

I have been using a repellent that we originally got for our dogs. It is from VetriScience Labs and is called Vetri Repel Spray. It is for dogs, cats and horses but it really works and works well on me as well. It is Lemongrass Oil, Cinnamon Oil, Sesame Oil and Castor Oil in a purified water mix. Just spray on and you smell great and the bugs stay away. We had mosquitoes the size of small chiuauas and they won't come near me when I have this on. It is not oily and does not dry out your skin. It is a bit pricey and I have only found it at our Vet but they probably have it at Amazon or some online sites.

I am new to BYC from East Texas. I have only had chickens about 10 months now. Right now I have 19 chickens and will be picking up two more this weekend with 12 others in my sis in laws incubator. I have 2 buff orpingtons, 2 silver laced wyandottes, 2 sex links, 4 easter eggers, 7 silkies, 1 ancona and 1 Rooster named "Harley."

BYC and Texas are great places to be.
