YEAh! I'd guess leave him for a lil while.
But again I know nothing.
SO cute....do you know what kind it is?
I'd like to see what it's going to grow up to be.

I know hes going to be a mix. He's part mallard for sure, since my sister in law has a mallard drake. But I'm not sure about his mother though.YEAh! I'd guess leave him for a lil while.

do you know if he is a boy already?
Aw. Im sorry to hear that.Opening it decreases your humidity making it harder for the others to get out of their shell. He is goid for at least a couple of days if necessary. It also makes the other chicks hatch as they can hear their buddy out cheering them on. That is what happened to my 2nd hatch i was not home my daughter kept opening it moving the eggs so they could see them taking out the broken shells, and getting the babies out. I had 11 DIS from shrinkwrapping to dry membrane was to hard. Of course mine are chickens not ducklings. Cute baby!
What a storm!!! 80 plus mph straight line winds but fortunately no tornado. Blew the new goose house over on its side with two geese inside it. It landed on the door so we can't get them out till tomorrow but I could see inside and they are doing o.k. Think we will leave it on its side, put in a new door and that will be that. Lots of down limbs, plums and peaches all over the place. Blue a piece of sheet metal off the goose pen roof all the way out to the highway. Blew our big cross (10 feet tall) that was out by the highway down so we will need to fix that and reinforce it before putting it back up. Blew the grill over and we had grilled earlier so there were hot coals still but there was enough rain that no fires. The county road is flooded down by the highway.
We finally have power back for at least a while so hope this is it for the night.
Nothing but snakes come into our coop and pen areas. We have a Great Pyrenees and an Akbash in training. Someone asked the other day where are my dogs with all of these snakes. For some reason, chicken snakes are not on their radar. The snake yesterday actually rattled it's tail at me and our Pyr was right there and didn't even notice. Our chickens like to go to the wooded area between our house and my brother in law's when we let them out to free range. They can fit through the squares in our property line fence. That's were the Bobcat struckThank Y'all. I was wondering about the app of course, but I was also wondering about protection, 'cause we do have Bobcats, Cougars, 'Coons, and Foxes. But do certain dogs keep them away, or will any type do? 'Cause I have a Boxer-Dalmation-Something Mix Breed Dog, Will He Do?
Congratulations!
Thank goodness y'all are safe. Poor geese, they probably have head aches. The storms today were all east of us. We're supposed to get some that's developing West of us much later in the night. What a storm!!! 80 plus mph straight line winds but fortunately no tornado.
