So sorry!Went to let the ducks out this morning and my favorite was dead in the nesting box. Well poop, that sucks. Why does it have to my favorite? Why couldn't it be one of my loud annoying ones? I paid specially for her too and she was the easiest to pick up and sweet. I'm guessing she was egg bound. I was telling DH that I was considering cutting but a bit but now I need to watch what I say. She was a year and a half old and I got her when she was a day old. RIP Skye
same here -- so sad.Needlessjunk, I am sorry you lost Skye.

Everyone (nearly) thinks that their chickens are better than anyone elses if they get into serious chicken raising for shows and beyond having wonderful back yard chickens and eggs. Part of it is because people have different likes and priorities -- I have a two friend with huge fluffy chickens that love them -- I like sleek egg layers, and don't want feathered feet etc. - so everyone who has picked chickens for their breed -- thinks that theirs are better.anybody else here dealt with someone wh thiks steir birds are way better than everybodies. just saw a guy asking if his hes was a RIR and the this guy put a picture of his rooster up and said this is a RIR but when the first guy put his rooster up and it looked way better, he did the same to me and when i asked for a price on 9 or 10 he wouldnt even respond, so hows yours better if yours cant even have a price to them
thats what im saying. just downing others for what their quality is isnt rightEveryone (nearly) thinks that their chickens are better than anyone elses if they get into serious chicken raising for shows and beyond having wonderful back yard chickens and eggs. That being said -- some chicken owners only think that theirs are better if they put other people's chickens down. sad state of affairs IMO-
Even if someone has the same breed you are dedicated to -- and show you chickens that you think are not as good -- it seems to me it would be more polite and professional to tell the the things about their breed that are good and possibly things that they could do some work on.
We chicken people can get a bit crazy at times.....
