Texas

My wife and I are in the final stages of closing on our second home in Justin, TX-- Yep, Justin from Justin, TX.

The best part about the new place is the size of the lot, location, and no HOA restrictions like we had previously in Chandler, AZ. The home/lot we are purchasing backs to a large estate property that has 15-20 friendly llamas grazing right up to our fence. We couldn't be happier as everything that is being built nearby is HOA and has next to no yard or backyard privacy. Woohoo!! Checkout the backyard below:

My wife and I are avid chicken and egg lovers--- our 2 young girls are too! The house actually comes with 2 chickens that have been laying for just under a year. They told me they are speckled hens but I believe they are Barred Rock hens. I'll post pictures when we close on the house later this month.

We both love this site and I have been using it as my primary resource for EVERYTHING chickens. This online community seems so great!! We can't wait to learn and grow with you all!

7 acres!!! Wow that is awesome; definitely jealous!! Someday we will have a much larger property but for now .7 acres backing to an estate with Llamas will do! :) Thanks for the warm welcome--- I think i figured out how to quote properly so you see my replies :)

We spent 5 years in a motorhome in Houston. I was about to go CRAZY! We came so close to buying in town but we kept holding out for that 'special place'. My husband can feel the tension roll off of him when he heads home.

You have a beautiful place and I can't wait to hear what you do to the place.

Thanks for the kind words!

Funny, our last HOA in AZ had lots of renters with loud barking dogs that were left out daily in 115 degree heat!! -- Not fair to the dogs at all. Working from home was never relaxing or quiet; this lot is much larger and has no neighbors directly behind the house. Smaller house too which means we will be outside MUCH more!

Wow you totally know how it feels to be on the hunt! We made 11 offers and made it to Option with 3 homes before this one. The market is TOUGH all over TX! Apparently everyone wants to come on down and get'them some! lol

The yard will be gorgeous as I planted 24 edible trees in my last lot in Arizona. All but maybe 3 trees fruited in under a year! Lots to think about and work to be done with my little helpers. Stay tuned I'll try and update accordingly. Thanks again for the kind words!

Your city name is better than ours! We live on Dead End Ln, in Ledbetter, TX! Now THAT'S a hoot!!
You'll love the country. We have 10.5 acres, we can't see anyone from our place, we only hear cows, horses, donkeys, dogs and sometimes kids. Enjoy.
