Texas

Well, I watched the state wide radar on the last wave for both of our neighborhoods.... DFW & H-town.

Our rain total this month is 6.99" & since early January it's 33.14" --- not including the hail or light snow flurries.
Annual rainfall for the North Texas area is around 30"

You know it well. We have had several years since 2011 that have been well above that. In fact two years in a row where 60+" annual rain fall NOT including the ice and snow.... Iirc one year was past the DFW record by about 2 inches as well.

Hate this hobby sometime. I didn't do a bedtime count last night and woke up this morning with one MIA 3.5wk old Blue Sumatra. :he They are at that point now that the 3 foot high chicken wire minipen enclosure inside the run is not a barrier at all any longer. I'll white knuckle it tonight after doing a count and hope it isn't a coop predator:fl, I just can't see how it could be one as all vents have HC also no signs of predator activity.

Oh I forgot to give the Pumpkin progress report earlier:th

She is still doing fine and shows no interest in venturing out of her cat crate at all, but still eating well but I can't tell if she is drinking much. I am doubling down on the fluids with a small cucumber daily.

Sorry no pictures of the efficiency of my lawnmower at completely defeathering the injured wing as she just isn't coming out voluntarily for her photoshoot. I have stopped with the epson salt soaks as she no longer shows signs of weeping or seeping.

I am not going to show the body side of this wing as her shoulder joint suffered about a 50% cut through and I am not willing to injure her further. It is also devoid of feathers.

Well today was the first day Pumpkin voluntarily ventured out of her crate into the living room for a few hours. Thankfully we have a tile floor and chicken poop loving dogs is all I can say about that. I'm thinking tomorrow she will get relocated to an empty broody cell outside near one of the feed stations prior to evaluating her release back into the flock. I procrastinate so tomorrow is probably more like in the next few days.

Allen, I am concerned. It sounds like if you procrastinate long enough you will have a house chicken. If you work with her, a lap chicken is not that far away. I have faith that this can be accomplished. And the dogs are helping with the house cleaning. I think they would support this.

LOL - Pumpkin the house chicken sounds like a great idea.
