I can totally relate!! Loved the 50s temps today, was able to leave the hoodie inside!! Alas, my cockerel Goldy whom was being held captive to heal and be snuggled indoors (long story, mean girl pullets), objected today and got to go back outside. He was so happy to scratch and peck goodies off the ground in his tractor! 😍
i have a Goldy too (shes the gold one if you missed that)

! The only good thing about online school, if you hold a chicken in your lap and they're sitting nobody can tell (until they start crowing🤦)

(New to this thread) its been so cold! At least in central tx. Love the cold! Chickens are fine and i now have an excuse to hold them inside more. "But I can feel her shivering! Shes positively freezing!"
This is Not one-upsmanship....

All I can say is; "better y'all than us" I lived through all that and worse...in substandard housing! It's pretty bad when you have to gather wood just to stay warm, because the fire isn't keeping you or the house warm!

An image of one of the snows we had, I think it was 82'.

Here NE of Houston it only got to 41 here yesterday morning and 44 this morning, with a breeze blowing that makes it feel a little cooler than that.
We have 25 five week old Australorp chicks out in the transition pen inside the run, they were all fluffed up but we’re enjoying the cool temps just running around and playing.

BTDT growing in 1970's michigan... blizzards, ice storms, lake effect dump, blowing and drifting with harsh wind chills, etal... I can totally know the feeling.
