So Bleeding heart is upset with me tonight as I have ordered coyote snares for a neighbor dog that has attacked and killed my chicken in the past. https://www.battlbox.com/products/dakotaline-snares-x3

I have police reports on file but the little brat of a dog can crawl under my front fence and runs like heck when I release my pack to nab it. It drops its unvetted/paracite loaded stools on my side of the fenceline.

The police already informed the neighbor it is illegal to allow the animal to run at large but after 6 months they(neighbors) think they are in the clear. Sorry it is still a coyote and there is no statute of limitations in which I observe an attack on my livestock until the time I decide to kill their animal particularly when it is on my property. Per Vernon's Texas Health and safety Code 822.013 I'm taking this coyote off the chessboard. The really sad thing is they won't care they will have a new back yard breeder puppy by Christmas. Sad to think that a dog is worth a 12 pack of beer down here. My own dogs cost so much more in prescription medications annually to keep them paracite free.

Do NOT get me riled on chicken killing dogs.
I posted a while back on the neighbors dog that killed/destroyed my flock and coop.
I have my plan in place there will NOT be repeat.
I am still not confident on strength/security of coop, but I feel better.

I found out there is peanut butter flavored rat poison. It might work on my rat/vermin problem.
I have no outside animals except chickens, an occasional squirrel, and a feral cat that likes to catch the gophers.

Those snares look handy, are you gonna hang the coyote on a fence? I hear that deters others.

I think I will place blocks of rat bait around access points, where I see trails from the varmints, i know of 2 places for sure.
