Ever tried to child proof an rv? I never knew two year olds could rip toilet locks off with sheer brute strength. no damage done, but now I got to figure out an alternative.

Eta: As far as toxic people, dysfunctional relationships and family go... don't set yourself on fire to keep other people warm. Took me a while to figure that one out.

Yes, because our nature is to nurture them, but how do you nurture someone who has become... something you did not expect. Sometimes life is extremely complicated. In my case, it's my mother, and that's a whole can of worms. Not the beneficial kind. That's a subject for my other favorite forum though.

Warmed up a little today. Got hot enough I started to sweat, which means it got over 80. Think I'll get started on dinner now that it's cooling down outside.

Just watched a pullet fly up on a 4 ft chainlink fence,
And then walk down 36 feet of fence.
They usually, fly up, set a while, then fly down. She's been on the fence 20 minutes-playing.

Ugh. My chicken run is surrounded by a 6 foot fence, an attempt to keep them in their own space. I have pop doors leading out to 2 separate 1 acre pastures and another to the 10 acre horse pasture. I just closed the 2 doors that went to the one that the goats are in, mostly to keep these goats out of the chicken feed for a while. Every single day, I'm chasing hens/roosters back into their own space. There's got to be a hole somewhere. I just can't see these heavy hens flying up that high. If it was the EE's getting out, I could see it, but it's the big girls.

I know, it does, but we've been here 3 years and none have flown the fence until now. It's just aggravating. Stupid chickens. How am I supposed to keep them safe if they do stupid stuff? <g>
On the plus side. I finally saw the goats go out into the big pasture with the horses. I wonder if I should get an older goat to hang with them. They're all just past weaning age, so they get scared easy.
