Is everyone in the flood area good?
I'm not in Kerrville but Seguin got flooded too! We got 10" in about an 8 hour period The hospital, HEB and the First Commercial Bank and other stores along Court Street were under about 2 feet of water....this is on high ground, not close to the river. I've never seen it that way before and I've been here for 40 years, not even the 1998 flood, made Court Street flood.
My pens have about 3" of new dirt brought in by the rain run off. Even in the sheltered part of my pens had standing water....that has never happened, even during a hurricane.
It's just tragic what happened in Kerrville, Hunt and Comfort. :(
Here's a video of the flooding in Seguin.

Does anyone have suggestions for gnat control? They are absolutely horrible this year and my poor chickens are inundated. They bother me too, always flying right to my face. I read you can plant rosemary bushes in and around the coop but I do not have a green thumb and tend to kill any plant.
Plants help for sure! I have a garden around the coop and helps with cooling and bug control. I was sitting on ground next to it, and I felt a cool breeze blow thru the plants.

For the gnats try garlic water. It works best for me! Spray around the coops and see if that helps.
