I'll start this one.

I am in San Marcos, between Austin and San Antonio.

FYI
I have been keeping a spread sheet of Texas BYC members for several years. Right now it has 274 members on it. Of course some are no longer members or might have visited only a few times.

Texas, we are strong !

I got a 90' Pine Tree in my 80' X 46' chicken run. Coming down your way to Ideal in Cameron. Do you know if they will let you pick up orders instead of having them mailed? I going to get 25 Buff Orphans, 25 Red Star, 25 Cornish Rocks and some guineas. Have you ever bought from them?

Yes, you can pick birds up from Ideal. Just make sure they know ahead of time. I am going to pick up some more Brabanters from them next month.

Most of their birds are pet quality, but you can also get some very nice representatives of the breeds...

What I meant was don't expect show quality birds. This is true of most of the big hatcheries.

Some people have complained about Ideal, but most are perfectly happy with them. I have no complaints. Check the Breeders & Backyard Hatcheries section of the other BYC message board too.

I'm located in Harper, about 30 miles west of Fredricksburg. I have 14 Easter Eggers in full production, 16 goats, 2 pyrenees, 2 blue heelers, 2 adopted cats, and one very special miniature dachshund. Oh, and 1 husband.

Hope everyone has made it through this winter storm unscathed! Spring will be here before long!

Yea, we are adding up over here too.

I primarily raise Appenzeller Spitzhaubens, but just got started with Brabanters. Other than that, I have a mixed bunch of layers, 6 banties, and a few Polish frizzles. Also have one black lab mix and two cats. (And the wonderful helpful husband too.)
