It's been a while since I last posted. The weather is very cold here now, having to winterise my coops, and chickens. That's a job in it's self
th.gif
. I have added a few new chicks, and chickens recently. Just this past weekend I added 2 polish top hats, a rooster, and a hen, 1 barred rock rooster ( my former one died, I think my hens are suspects), 1 buff silkie hen ( my hubbys weakness

) and 2 cochin hens. The chicken coop is growing in leaps, and bounds. Hopefully this spring I will be selling pure blooded chickens, chicks, and fertial eggs

. All the sweat, tears, splinters, bruses, and bad words will finally pay off

. I pray all your coops, and chickens are doing great during this rather colder than normal season. I keep reminding my self that it will be over soon.... won't it

My name is Jenni. Me and my husband Marvin currently have 5 Rhode Island Reds (We just lost 3 and will probably lose one more before it's all done). We also have 3 dogs and 4 kids. We live in Gardendale, TX ( in between Midland and Odessa.)

Hi, I'm Ty. Located in Abilene, Tx. First time with chickens. I have what the feed store *said* were 10 hens.. So far one has turned into a roo. He is a Delaware, around 8-9 weeks old. Anyone in the Abilene area interested? I'm in town and don't want to disrupt the neighbors...

You are so lucky! Last April, I bought a dozen "pullets" from the local feedstore. ALL of them were roos. Pretty, but roos.

I don't shop there anymore.

But I feel like if you only got one out of that bunch, you did OK. Sometimes they will take the roo from you (I think they wind up in the freezer, but.....)
