Let me jump into this group! I live in Leander, TX...just outside Austin. I see two other Leander folks on the list...maybe we are neighbors?
We started last year with a duck and then some various kinds of chickens that people didn't want. I didn't know I would fall in love with them, but I did. We have bantys and silkies and one RIR rooster with his lady, who also looks like an RIR but we weren't told what she is. Beautiful chickens...they are so sweet together, and she lays big beautiful brown eggs daily. The other eggs we get are small. I'm starting to give them away now that we have several laying hens.
I will talk chickens with anyone I can get to listen to me!

Been here a while but dont think I have posted on the Texas thread yet.
Live in Cedar Park, northern suburb of Austin. Living in chicken hell in a subdivision with deed restrictions to keep the DW happy. Still have some birds on farm near Hico on the family farm.
Trying to find somewhere close to here that I can set up a situation to raise birds. We shall see.
Seeing lots of Austin folks and Leander folks. Feel free to hit me up to talk about chickens. Have raised them all my life and it is an affliction.
