Texas

It started out as me wanting a few bobwhites around to breed for meat and sell chicks but then I started hatching corturnix and the more I looked at the colors I realized I wanted trios in a lot of the different colors and wound up buying nearly 300 eggs. A good deal of which are due to hatch in the next two weeks. Plan to sell some off and keep the colors I really want and bbq a few.

The more I keep thinking about it I think next to the chickens I might concentrate on raising quail as my second main birds. Hehe either way I'm going to be eating good!

HI All. I live in cedar creek , Bastrop county. My Hubby gave me my chickens for Xmas. First chicks i've ever had. I have 4 Americanas Hens. They are 6 months old and just started to lay eggs. These girls are really spoiled.

I have lived in the city all my life until 2 years ago, when we moved here from California.

No joke! My newest quail are hatching at the moment with roughly 60% fertility. I have the 120 eggs which look to be at 90% fertility! And still another 70 eggs incubating. I think I'll be taking a break from quail after this lol. And I have a bunch of chickens coming in still! Addiction is an understatement sometimes.

New here and new to chickens this year. We live just north of Victoria in South Texas. Still awaiting eggs. Right now we have a flock of 18 (3 roosters darn it) and 15 muscovy ducklings. Also a herd of guinea pigs (breed and show) and 7 horses, 3 ponies. With three children we have a blast here. Glad to see so many other Texans here.
