I'm in Millsap. Find a big map of Texas. Find Ft Worth. Go west and find Weatherford. Go a little farther west and find Mineral Wells. If your map is big enough when you look between the 2 you'll find Millsap. If it's not there then your map is too small.

Misplaced Texan here! I grew up in Northeast Texas in a town called Mt Pleasant, went to college at BOTH UT and A&M, and I can claim 7 generations of Texas blood from both West Texas and East Texas, all Scot/Irish ornery:he. I am currently stuck in the mountains of AZ in a sort of resort town called Flagstaff. I miss Texas, and I still have family in Mt Vernon.

So good to see so many new Texas members, misplaced Texans (you will return !) and a friend from the UK on BYC.

There are over 450 of us here.

mr portvale,
If you do a "search" at the top of the page and use the keyword "England", you will find there are a lot of members from the UK here too.

I am from Alvarado in Johnson County. My husband and I met on Match.com and I knew he was the man for me when I read in his profile that he had over fifty chickens. Our flocks were combined thereafter.

- not sure why - probably too hot - I put on a light, worried about it getting too chilly - which is quite a joke in the weather we've been having lately.

Question for you fellow txans - is it ever too hot for the chicks? The brooder I have them in is outside on our carport and seems to be hovering between 90 and 100 for now, but when they are feathered I want to move them into the coop and it can get above 100 in there (I monitored it for a few days - I can put a fan in and will) but was wondering if it would I will be seeing problems in the coop when I move them due to the heat.

Thanks for your help!

Sarah

you will need to watch it because here in tX, the brooder can jump to 110 in a hurry, with the heat we have been having, As soon as they start getting feathers I take all heat away and mine has been doing find , But they are in the garage
