Hello Lisa. Yes I am waiting for the big explosion! I lived all around the Dallas area and moved to Emory in 1998. I love the country and have NO desire to live in the Big City again. After all, I couldn't sit in my backyard and watch my chickens peck around in the city. lol

I am in South Austin, near Dripping Springs. I had family that used to live in Marble Falls. In Oak Hill (South West Austin) there is something called a "Y" it is where 71 & 290 split, 71 takes you to Marble Falls, 290 takes you to Dripping Springs :). If you are flying into Austin at that "Y" you will go right by my parents house :).

I have Barnevelders (still really young), Silver Penciled Plymouth Rocks, Speckled Sussex, 2 White Rocks and one Barred Rock. Not a breeder really of any of them because I only have 3 that are old enough to lay and can't use them for any programs.

Have fun in TX!

Hello to all the Texas BYC members! I just joined this week. I live just outside the BIG town of Alba, in East Texas. Ever been to Lake Fork? I love this site and look forward to chatting with some of you.

toocountry, welcome to byc!! I have never heard of Alba or Lake Fork. I live in a small town, too. Our population is only like 1100.

i cant wait till tomorrow! I start Vet Tech school! So i could and will learn all the meds and suplements to give my chickens!
That and i will no longer have to work with people! Well not stooopid people! Cant stand GHETTO! Lol altho i live in one! Smh!

Oh sweetie, I hate to break it to you. It you will end up dealing with the stupidiest people you have ever met in your life!! I'm a former vet tech there are idiots I wanted to kill!!! Of course there are great clients too but you have not even seen the beginning of stupid until you work in a vets office!!

ChickletteSarge - There are stupid people everywhere you go. I'm one of them sometimes, especially when it comes to my car or my finances. Don't let it get you down. It's fun to be excited about learning something new, and I'm excited for you. I fantasize about winning the lottery and getting a hobby farm and going to vet tech school. Then volunteering at the SPCA (I'm sure they see hordes of stupid and mean people). Anyway, good luck to you!

I'm way down here in Houston, not close to there at all. But if you happened to tuck an extra boy under your arm before getting here I'd probably drive up there! :gig
