Texas

Out of all the cases around my area of West Nile, only 1 person has died and they were 90 years old and already sick. If I remember correctly is way less harmful than the flu. So I am not sure if breathing in pesticides is worth it, but then again not getting bit day and night might be nice also.

I do think the media is blowing it up a bit out of proportion, but then what else is new

Thank goodness we are getting cooler temps!!!!!

My mom said that she heard on TV

that 4 people have died from it in Lufkin and that they will be spraying in Houston tonight - so who knows??? is there anything that can kill mosquitoes??? I think they are like roaches - impossible to kill, they just run around yelling "You missed me" when you try to spray them.

The cooler temps are GREAT!! It felt wonderful yesterday morning and again this morning. Yesterday, we even got a few drops of rain!!

The mosquitoes have been terrible this year! Worst I've seen in the 8 years I've been at this house. My flock is recovering from a round of Fowl Pox. Thankfully there were no casualties, just miserable birds and nearly no eggs laid.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but nope not everything you hear on the TV is true. However, if you read it on the web, then it is true, so just keep those straight!

Bonjour!

Hey everyone I recently moved to Texas from California and I had to sell all my chickens

But I refuse to go back to store bought eggs! I was wondering if there was anyone near Sugarland who would be willing to sell me eating eggs, from their flock, on a regular bases. I went to the farmers market and had bought eggs from a nice lady but I don't like only being able to buy eggs one day a week early in the morning. I don't care if they're organic or not as long as your girls are happy and healthy. So if anyone here would like a regular costumer PM me

Oh My everyone in north Texas line up and blow south. We need that cooler weather down here!

LOL! My lips are tired of blowing - can you feel anything yet? :D  It's up to 94 now - sad that temps in the 90s are "cool".

Well it was a good try anyway! It cooled off briefly, about one afternoon was it. Back up to the 90's pretty fast though.

Greetings! Clearly i'm a "New Egg" here... but anyway, I'm right out side of Houston, on the SW side....
1 of my 3 feed store chicks died. So at this point i want to make a mail order for my chicks.
Is there anyone in the Sugarland/Missouri City/Stafford/Richmond/Rosenberg/Pearland area interested in splitting an order?

Thanks!

You might also check craigslist. There are alot of people in the area that sell chicks. What breeds are you looking for? You might be able to get the breeds you want without having to pay so much for them.
