Just sat here and read this entire thread....what a long strange trip its been huh?
Like many others, I'd like to thank you for your service and I thank you for the sake of my children as well. I'm happy to read there was a solution, and I LOVED the little tree trimming party you had. Wish you could have taken pics of it!
I was diagnosed with PTSD, but not due to combat, rather the very premature birth of my daughter >crazy huh?< I have struggled and struggled for the past 6 years with the depression, the anxiety and all the other lovely things that come along with it. I got my first chickens last July, and even though i've lost 2 entire flocks as well as 4 just recently, i have to say, I have not had the "symptoms" nearly as severe since i've started keeping birds. It gives me something to do to keep my mind occupied when my kids arent making me lose what mind i have left that is! I found this "family" on BYC completely by mistake, and I'm new to it, but already i've learned a ton of helpful information and at night when the kids are asleep and the dogs are snoring, I find myself just reading thread after thread. Now, like many others every single structure i see ..it's a coop in my mind, and I hit flea markets every weekend and notice all the different "brands" of birds there are available. I'm driving my hubby crazy, I think thats why he works out of town >hehehe< but he too has noticed how much they help me deal with the tourment that I could not deal with in the not so distant past.
So, go...enjoy your birds, I'll be keeping an eye out to see if you've posted any pictures and read updates. This thread by its self shows me yet again, you are not alone!
Thanks for serving...
I did some research and got 3.38 million hits on How to Passive Aggressively Irritate Your Neighbors... rooster was #4 on the list. A harley-davidson works well, a gas blower without a muffler works, lawnmower without a muffler or straight pipes, learning how to play musical instruments, ie bagpipes, nude sign in yard, bunch of gnomes in the yard, all facing them, clothes line, etc. Glad to hear about your tractor, that works...hope you sawed off the bushes at different levels.

Perfect.... Now build a big (really really big) compost pile on the spot where you "trimmed" the bushes, and fill it daily with wet chicken poop... collect as much as possible from your friendly BYC pals, and keep it moist... That way it stinks more... Oh... and the big fan... Yes, the big fan blowing towards neighbor will help.

HAHAAHAH!! Serves him right! I'm so glad things worked out - I just started reading this thread. And on this Memorial Day my family and I thank you for the sacrifices you have made in serving our country.
