Thank you for my silkies, Charlie! (and Julie!) *upd. pics pg 4*

I need to get some update photos.

I'm pretty sure now that 3 are splashes, and one is a solid grey/lavender. His/her wing feather shafts are white, but the rest of the feathers are grey with a hint of periwinkle.
Might this be the lavender pullet I've been hoping for?!?

Okie dokie... here are the 8 week update photos of my 4 adorable silkies from Charlie. Any hints on gender are appreciated, as well as confirmation of the color of my "grey" silkie.

Wow!

You truly have some lovely chicks there!!!

I think the one you think is a gray or lavender is a lavender.

I am not sure, but it looks like a lavender. I have never had silkies, but boy do they look wonderful!
big_smile.png

I think one is a rooster and the other three are hens. Can't really tell right now! I hope you don't get too many roosters, because then you wouldn't be able to hatch any eggs from them! I'm

that your flock does great!

Good luck and congrats!!!

Thank you... me too. I have 3 roos already, but only one of each color. I will be splitting them by color in the spring, and a lavender hen would be perfect for my ONE lavender roo.
big_smile.png

I just love their coloring... so funky!
LOL!

I am ready to put the eggs I got from you into the new hatcher in the morning. Check out my other current threads for all the progress I have made in the last few days.

I can't wait to have some of those pretty silks you have going. Nice work! Is that your son there? He sure looks like a fine young lad and happy around the chickens also.

Thank you! *blush* Yes, that is our oldest. He is actually interested in showing our Mille Fleur d'Uccles, and our youngest wants to show the silkies. I think I still have a lot of work to do, but it sure helps when your stock comes from such good breeding as Charlie's and Julie's.

I'll have to go check out your threads... I must have missed them!
