We just finished our new, extended chicken run. Thanks for the great ideas! The girls adore their mirror. I was going to hang it, but they spend so much time in their dirt bath, either playing in the dirt, or roosting on the walls around the edges.
The plants are all protected in a chicken wire cylinder. Half of it is planted below the soil to protect the roots of each plant. The night-blooming jasmine seems to be their favorite snack.
I loved the log suggestion too -- it can do double duty as something for the girls to jump on and for me to sit on!
The wine barrel is going to get curtains to make it a little more dark and cozy. And I found the perfect fabric in my stash!
