This site is better than any book because you can ask questions, and get a variety of different answers to help you tailor things to best suit your set up/flock. There's rarely one "right" answer!

book learning gives you a general idea, experience, brainstorming and figuring out what works for you and your flock can't be learned in a book, it's kinda like doctors, they don't know what to do if you don't fit in with what the books say? My doctor complains he feels like he's back in school cause of way I react to medications and things, he has to research anything he wants to try with me very well to avoid an allergic reaction or the meds working backwards to what they are supposed to and can't have medications for sever allergic reactions as I'm allergic to them and the other option if you can't have steroids for allergic reaction don't work lol.
