I did have a question though. They seem to only drink if I pick them up and bring them to the water and if i hold them they will stick their heads in and drink for a while. Which is what leads me to believe they don't drink if i don't bring them. How do I get them to drink on their own? And how do I know if they are getting enough?

They will drink soon. They may be still working on their yolk and don't need it that much yet. You will know when they drink, with a mess that looks like a bomb hit the place.

I would still make them drink to make sure they are not getting dehydrated. They are are eating their mush, right? So they are also getting water from there.

OHHH!!!! THose are The Garry Farm babies.....You forgot to tell me Dave and you got 4 on those shipped eggs....Wahoo!!!!! You did great...

Please wait to take swimming until it's warmer and if you do let swim, remember that you must be there 100% of the time to prevent drowning....I would wait at least 2 weeks for a swim.

I'm so happy, please let me know if I can use you as a reference when I next post our crested and non crested pekin duck eggs,,,,,which should be shortly....Also could I borrow one or two pictures....I'm so happy, Tell them Granny Nanny says love and proud of all that fine incubation work....I know it is hard work, especially with ducks!!!!

Ducks can swim right away WITH supervision. Just dry them off after they swim for a bit and put them in a warm brooder and they will be fine.

I let mine swim from day 2 on. They love it.
