THANKS, ALL! re. Weird--A horse we got yesterday dead of heart attack

goatkeepers, All the Paso Finos I know have Spanish names so I decided to give her one. "Desear" means "to want", so "Desea" means "desire, craving, wish."
I'm starting to consider keeping her and selling the other Paso I just got, Estrella (which means 'star'), instead. Desea seems like she would be especially good for guests when they visit.

mainchick, Thank you for the good wishes. It was most disturbing the first horse I saw dead, in my teens. It is still rough, but I can integrate the realities better now.
We plan to take Desea out of quarantine in another day or two, and then we'll put her and Estrella together. They will both be going on diets since both have a founder history!

unionwirewoman, I believe God has lots to do with our lives, particularly in 2 kinds of situations: 1) His intervention is necessary to prevent our life from getting derailed from the important individual purposes of our lives; and 2) We enable His additional involvement by requesting it and by listening for His guidance of what is best and seeking to align our actions with His purposes. But everyone has their own beliefs on this, and these differ at different times of our lives, often.
I am sorry for the loss of your uncle you went through. It sounds like you had some wonderful, close experiences together and he cared about you. I'm glad when people take time to be there for each other like that.
My husband's hoof knowledge and trimming skills should give whichever mare we keep the best chance for ongoing comfort. And whichever mare we sell we will be looking out for a good owner.

Thanks again, all!

The pic you posted of her is beautiful! Glad you let her say goodbye to her friend. We lost our English Bulldog today. She just dropped dead in the middle of the kitchen. We think it was a heart attack, she was 10 or 11, and a rescue. My siamese came over and wouldn't stop screaming. That just made the kids cry more, which didn't help me any, as you can imagine. So, the animals do know.

Thanks for sharing your picture. I hope you are feeling better. She looks like she will be a wonderful horse!

Speckledhills, you are such a thoughtful woman, look at the way you thanked each one of us. I wonder if your girl was the one that really needed the new home, new people to appreciate her. Everything does have a reason under heaven on earth.
We often forget that even though we are over fed, its love that allows us to find a will to live. Perhaps these two were being fed, but attention and love came from your family.

As for sred, god bless you, its just not easy losing a family friend.
Both of you take care, God bless and take care of yourselves.

Shelly,
Oh, I am so sorry! That sounds like it was so traumatic.
It sounds like there is also a lot of caring for each other in your home, too, which has got to be a comfort during a time of loss like this.

spook,
Thank you--your note means a lot. I appreciate your reflecting back good to me, and the encouragement in your shared faith. Thank you.
I am feeling close to Desea, and indeed she just may end up staying here.
