Hi, and Welcome from Southeast Missouri. You will thank yourself later if you spend some time researching coop styles, chicken breeds, general chicken health, etc. Good winter project, then by spring you will be ready to jump in.

I see you are in Lancaster. May I recommend that you make your run with a solid roof and as predator proof as your coop so you never have to close the pop door? I have found this to be the best way for managing the flock. As soon as they come off the roost in the morning, out they go to the run.
This also makes their lives much better during winter as they will have a much larger area to be in when the weather turns nasty. All you have to do is cover all but about the top 1' of the run walls with tarps and they will be all set.
I am also a big fan of wiring up the coop. Having receptacles to run water heaters in the winter or fans in the summer and lights at the flick of a switch is very convenient.
