That’s funny, but my chickens definitely listen to those crows. Caws from crows = hawks a circling!

The duckies too rely on the crow warning system, but also the crows here actively chase the hawks away.

One afternoon this past week a squirrel stood still on a hickory limb and started making a strange noise. The noise kind of freaked the chickens out a bit too. It did t take long to see that the squirrel was sending awarning sound to his squirrely friends that there was a hawk in the vicinity. I had never heard or seen that before.

I have not seen a squirrel around here since Blanca and Bazilla Duck tried to eat one in Fall last year. They just thought it was a super hairy mouse…
