Thanksgiving Hatch- Anyone want to join in?

I candled mine again last night-out of 6 Seramas, one quit at 3-4 days, one at about a week, and another at about 2 weeks.

I still have 3 Seramas in, but one is a BIG question mark. The bantam Cochins are ALL still in!!! (9 or 10 total Cochins)!

Congratulations! I started with 6 silkies, 6 seramas, and some high number of ducks. I'm down to 4 silkies, 4 seramas, and some high number of ducks. Were your eggs shipped?

If I seem weirded out, it's just nerves. Last time I had a staggered hatch so with each lock down I was counting the chicks from the previous hatch. This is how I really am 3 days or so before. Of course, the weepy egg after candling and lock down didn't help a lot, but I'm always sure all mine are goners right before. This time they are also all shipped eggs and none of them come from the lady in GA who eggs never fail me.

So, let me get the

over with and everything should be fine.

No, I got these from Catwalk-and I have another batch of about the same number set to hatch one week after these do. I have been having really good hatch rates, but I understand most people say Seramas are really hard to hatch, so I am not terribly upset-just a little disappointed! Good luck with yours!

Lockdown time!!! I'm wondering if I should open the bator this evening to put them in individual little paper baskets. What's worse, having them possibly roll into another one, or opening the bator to put them in baskets?

At the beginning of lock down, I usually feel like there is some leeway if I want to do something like that. After the first day or so, depending on how early I locked down, that leeway goes away. (I did grab the weepy egg out and toss it away. No sense in having that there to contaminate the others!)

I have wigglers! They are rocking a rolling! I'm so excited! I hope these guys make it. They are very special to me. My first eggs laid by my first laying hen!
