Thanksgiving Hatch- Anyone want to join in?

Well, sad to say I ended up with my first hatch a zero percent hatch. NOTHING!!!

Newduckie, I am sorry, I know how you feel as I've got no babies either.

I set 5 eggs under my BO Loko on Nov 3rd, and found 1 extra egg under her a couple of days later. It was her (and my) first time. She has been really good sitting on those eggs. But there are no chickies. I am waiting till tomorrow just to be sure. I'm going to open them up just to see what might have happened. Who knows, maybe Herman wasn't doing his job.

Well, there is always next time.

I just hope Loko will finally return to normal after I remove those eggs.

I am not putting anymore under her at this point.

they were definitly fertile. two quit developing a while ago it looks like. The egg is not filled with the chick. two look like they are totally black except for the air sac. still not doing anything. My broody hatched one today but it way dead. They top of the shell was off and it was dead in the bottom of the shell. My luck is pretty bad right now. One more under the hen. we will see.

My granddaughter came to spend the night last night in anticipation of the hatch that didn't happen. We kept busy with other things. and then she went home before the dead baby.... thank goodness.

OMG!!!

I love all the chicks and duckies pics!!! Been missing all the fun!!!

Went away for turkey day kinda miss not having a turkey sandwich... Soup...

and of coarse pumpkin pie breakfast..

i still got nothing in my bator either...
they were still moving when i put them in htere the other night... i had such a great hatch last time.. and this one is BLAH..... i think the egg carton method is not the best for a still air bator where the top and bottom of hte bator are different temps.. it's only like 3 degrees different, but i think it threw the eggs way off...

Well, I put mine in late at night on the 7th. We have one hatch...and about 5 pips. That first one hatched SO FAST after she pipped, that I'm getting impatient for the others. We started with 23...took 2 out at about 14 days...and now we have one chick and 20 eggs. Excited and NERVOUS!!!

My second hatch came Thursday and I now have 31 babies to join the 36 others born last Saturday. What am I going to do with all these chicks? More are due on Sat.! We moved the 67 to the big brooder today, smell was killing me in the house. They are all doing great at this time. Most are mutts but about 11 dominiques, and several austrolorp, buff orps

Sorry to hear about your BLAH hatch. Good to know info on the egg carton, makes sense though.. After my last egg mess up I can't wait setting my Golden egg farm eggs on Monday..More silkies

And the partridge silkies are a mix black breasted phoenix/silkie cross and they are going to fix it.

So all is good but what to do with those phoenix/silkie mix chicks

Also setting my October egg swap eggs on Monday still have no idea what they are so it should be very exciting to see what pops out....

Well one more arrived about an hour ago and another on the way. All silkies. So far no luck with my golden laced cochins, but I do have a little bit of hope now.

i think my hatch is over but i will give the last 2 serama eggs until monday before i toss them just to make sure. all total out of 22 eggs that went into lockdown i got 7 WLxRIR, 2 OEGBxRIR, 3 silkies, and 8 seramas. congrats to everyone on their new chicks and to those of you who didn't get any... i am sorry and i hope you have better luck with your next hatch. i will post pics of all my cute little babies tomorrow.
