I'm joining the party a little late but I have 3 RIR X White rock eggs in the bator now. One is a double yolk I made a boo boo on. I thought they were dead, but nope, at least one baby is still alive. He's making it so far. Only have to get through 5 more days. These eggs are special to me. They were the first eggs that my hen laid. And she was one of the first chickens I have ever had much less one that was laying. Sadly, my roo's that I had separated from the hen's got loose into the hen pen and the Daddy roo (aka. Big Daddy) didn't get to them to them in time to stop them and she was killed due to over mating.

you guys would be proud of me.. i remebered to get the home made bator out and it's heating up to see if it will hold a steady temp so i can use it for a hatcher.. if not.. i'm in trouble.. lol... staggered hatch.. oops...

It's glad that makes the press n' seal. That would be a great double meaning name. Glad for the product that saved him and glad that he made it LOL. Thanks for the good luck wishes. Hope every one has great hatches.

I did my final candling last night and have 13 viable eggs! I even saw a little foot!

Only a few more days till lockdown!!

So even after the temps went down to 80 last week, I candled again last night and have 7 very viable with movement eggs.

Hurray for all you with babies and eggs going on lockdown. I am sooo excited. Julie, what humidity did you hatch at?

I would love to see pics. I have never seen SLW chicks, I imagine they are adorable.

I candled as I put in lockdown, I can't believe they're going to be ready in 3 days. I have 8 left out of 18 shipped eggs. Motion in all of them, but they don't look very big.

Only one of the 12 EEs made it. Checked the other eggs and dead.

Humidity is around 70 percent.

I'm heading out the door to the grocery store, but here's a pic I found online that looks like them over on feathersite.
