Thanksgiving Hatch- Anyone want to join in?

I have hatched plenty of eggs in my incubator before and had no problems. Just not shipped eggs. My own silkies are blessing me with plenty of eggs! I really wanted to better my flock with some well know breeders.

Thanks for your input!

Try going for eggs from a different location or be mindful of the weather when you order. Too cold and too hot are bad for the transit, for instance. The last time I ordered eggs from south Georgia, there was flooding in north Georgia and they were delayed. The hatch rate wasn't improved by that. (I didn't say, but the eggs from south Georgia seem to hatch the best for me unless I can get them from my same general area.)

Well here are 3 of the 4 I managed to hatch. One didn't make it the first 24 hrs. 1 white and 2 splash silkies!

One of them does have a weird leg. Won't put any weight on it. It was up and out to the side. I taped the feet together with a band aid and now the leg is straight but still the chick will not put it down. I am not sure what else to do

Those little things are so cute. I want some silkies so bad. I have three silkie roosters but no hens. They are adorable. Thanks for sharing and as for its leg, I can't even pretend to know, but sounds like you have done what you can. I know I have a couple of hens with the crippled legs and they seem to adapt.

I am having serious silkie envy!! LOL What noble looking little birds. I guess I'd better take pictures of my hatch. They're super cute!
