Thanksgiving Help Needed Please! (The parents are still in Montana)

So proud that you've tackled the first big family meal.
I remember my first attempt to cook Thanksgiving for all of the family. I put the peelings from 10 pounds of potatoes down the garbage disposal.
My garbage disposal did not like it. not at all.
The sink backed up with nasty mucky water, so it smelled up the kitchen, and of course, I became upset and frazzled.
I don't even remember how the meal tasted.
I just remember we couldn't do the dishes and hubby was trying to keep everything under control while using the toilet plunger in the sink.

So... are you feeling better about your first big family meal now? LOL

Ok, got up at 8 and cooked till 4. Friend came over and we ate till about 6 or 7. Then Grandpa and I did dishes until 8:30. I made turkey and gravy, sweet potato casserole and green bean casserole, cranberry something and salad, wheat rolls and some carrot thing, and last but not least, I made pumpkin pie and hazelnut coffee cream pie.

I only have some pictures, my mom's friend got pictures of the whole feast. I'll have to ask him to email some to me.

The table before the feast was placed on it. For my mother's sanity, I did not take pictures after the feast.

That was an impressive menu you tackled! I've never heard of your hazelnut coffee pie but it sounds very fancy. Job well done, MaggieRae. I knew you could do it! Now go put your feet up today!

You are amazing!!!! I hope my daughter grows up to be as wonderful and capable as you are. I hope your dad is doing ok. (((HUGS)))

You did all that and you're not even old enough to drink?? I'm IMPRESSED!! When I was your age I was limited to spaghetti and meatballs.

Wow. I hope I grow up to be just like you! (I'm 39)

Wow.

It's not hard, you take 2 pudding (chocolate, white chocolate, vanilla, whatever you think would go well) mixes and whisk them with milk, then add 2 tbsp of hazelnut instant coffee, then mix with half a tub of whipped cream. Pour into a ready-make crust and top with the rest of the whipped cream. Takes 5 minutes (usually less) and tastes delicious.

And did I mention, Dad is home!!!!!!! He came home the tuesday after thanksgiving. He's tired and grouchy, but at least he's okay! It truly was a freak heart attack. He's healthy as a horse (He works out all the time and eats like a diabetic with my mother and myself.). So please, everyone, be wary of unusual back pain!
