OH! YUMMY! I am so doing this! Those are PERFECT! We finally decided today that we do not want to travel-(I get car sick, no one wants to travel with me after a large meal...

But anyway, we are getting all our 'only' friends and 'not doing anything' neighbors and having a turkey burger cookout next to the chicken coop under the big oak tree.

They all already understand that we are strange.

Well you are JUST in luck!

I've been sharing my Thanksgiving Menu on my blog... this includes my recipes... recipes I've found and WHEN I making everything.

In fact, I have my 'pre' item that I will start making and working on today through Wednesday on my blog now. Next I will post all my day of recipes for the menu.

Go check it out, see if you like it:

Well I went and got the ingredients for the cheesecakes. I have a love affair with cheesecake though and need to wait until it's a little bit closer to Thanksgiving so my boyfriend has some left to take to his family gathering.
So far I've managed to not put eggs in my incubator, if I can hold out on that I can wait another 2 days for cheesecake!

I
made these a couple years ago & they are now part of my personal "tradition"

Since it's just me, cooking for me, I can do what I like.
Unless I find a small - 8# or less - turkey, I just roast the thighs.
I prefer dark meat, there's just the one big bone and still some "cripsy" skin : 9

Either wholegrain bread or cornbread dressing - baked alongside, I hate the mushy stuff from inside a bird > : P
Pan gravy to go over it.
Add some fresh raw cranberry/orange relish & I'm set.

Susan Stamberg's Mom's relish recipe is a godawful color but really tasty - and leftovers keep in the freezer forever.

Cool. Thanks for the blog recipes.

And let me know if that popcorn thing works!! Kinda funny.

I usually do the high temp 2 hour turkey. I've found it to come out well. I also brine though, so not sure which is making the bird moist, and yet unwilling to experiment since it comes out good

every year i make the regular sage dressing for the 1/2 who like that best but i also make a cornbread sausage stuffing for the other half.. it is a little sweeter and seems to be a hit with everyone..
1 box of jiffy cornbread cooked or your own recipe for an 8x8 size cornbread. i add just about 1 tablespoon of extra sugar when making it.
brown 1 tube of jimmy dean sausage with some diced celery and diced onion.. when cooked through add to crumbled cornbread and 3 cups of cubed bread. add enough dried sage and garlic powder to your taste.. moisten with turkey or chicken broth and bake till heated through
