Previously I mentioned the last eggs Bella left behind, how one was small, white, and the yolk seemed the size of a marble. 20210805_143954.jpg
It's been incubating for 2 wks today.

Oooh, that egg looks promising! I hope it’s a mini- Bella! :caf
The other 2 are viable as well. This one just fascinates me by how clear it is.
Meanwhile the Boys took the older 3 out today for an educational field trip (and didn't fight once!): 20210805_160823.jpg
I'm not sure what Nugget was demonstrating: 20210805_170208.jpg
Mama Rose called out every now and then. She should be about done. 20210805_164908.jpg 20210805_170603.jpg

How adorable!!! :love Congratulations to you and to Rosie who knew just what to do!!!:wee
This went well. I've walked and talked to her every day & today saw keets. Luckily I had company, so I picked her up, my guest rounded the keets up in a box & everyone was moved to the coop. She's done well in the garden, but I figured trying to keep 20+ squirmies inplace and warm tonight might be a challenge. I counted fast, but I think there were 22. 4 were dead, 3 hatched,1 1/2 way out of shell. I think she may have stepped on them?
Anyway, she was a good girl, let me pick her up and carry her, settled into coop w/them and content to be petted and oohed and ahhed at. Think she's rather proud of herself! She's booted the boys to the run for the night, though.
I shut the fan off in coop and it's stuffy in there now, but it's to get to 63° tonight. Will they be ok under her? I helpedher out with moving the hemp up around her about 6" high.

Wow! She is one tame girl to trust you to move her and keets! That’s a lot of keets for one hen to cover - do they all fit under or on her? Maybe another bird (cock or hen) will step in to co-parent?

She is very patient with them and me. I still haven't got an accurate head count; they move around too much. She doesn't fret over me picking them up, but I haven't got down on my hands and knees in there. I just pick up wanderers and tuck them back under her.
The 3 older keets that I had moved out there in the brooder have finished with it so I turned it on it's side today so she can get in and out if she wants. So far she's still eyeballing it, but they are strong enough to jump over the kick board we put behind pop door if it's open,so she might shove them in there tonight. She has no patience for the 3 older ones & won't let them in coop until lockdown. I took smaller brooder with the 2 out today and let the 3 older ones get in and get aquainted. They did well, so atleast those 5 can group together. The Boys have turned their attention from them to the newbies, won't leave the coop or her/them. I haven't seen them brooding over them, but they are very protective. Other than popping out to be curious, they all seem to be finding space under there?
Now.,,if a miracle occurs and Bella comes home Thursday or so with a brood of her own, the world will be perfect ..,and chaos. Lol.
