In search of an easy way to roof my aviary i tossed around aviary netting but now i am thinking about thatch rolls

It is solidly woven on the back and 30 inch high rolls and up to 60 feet wide. I would run a piece of wire across every 2 feet and tie it on the wire. Start on the bottom and carry it across. Then put each row 2 feet above the other and overlapping the one below by 6 inches.

I believe it would be pretty predator proof. And pretty unique too!
Any ideas on this?

They have those roofs in Asia a lot too. I was considering it for my Pekin ducks. They were originally bred in China so the theme would have gone together

I decided it would not work though because the site is too shady already and that would have made it too dark

I still want to use it for something though. :| It would feel like you are on vacation in your own yard. All you would need then would be some Mai Tais with a tall straw and a recliner.

PS I believe it would be fairly predator resistant though

I LIKE IT!!!

I wouldn't use it on my coop, but I'm building an outdoor smoker/hibachi/cooker/kabob pit/eating area, and I like that!

Where do you get it and how expensive is it?

Bob
