Good thing I still check, dead center of the top of run, out of reach. His name his Cookie, but he might be owl snack one of these days.

I did manage to get him down with a ladder, pulled him within reach after he grabbed the end of a rake.

Why do I love the ones that give me the most trouble, lol?

Sorry I laughed, but that thought has crossed my mind too, lol.

Oh I think that every night, I count them all, search for the missing one, curse it up and down… tell it you’re on your own….

But then I sigh and go on a chicken hunt outside.

When I get back inside the barn there is the missing little crapper sitting smuggly on the stall wall. 🤨

Don’t tell me chickens don’t have a sense of humour!

Oh they definitely do, unfortunately for us it's more of the "let's see how many grey hairs we can give her this week" variety of humor.

I forgot about this post 20251024_161421.jpg
Update: Cookie's climbing has been halted with the addition of landscaping fabric on the side of the run. I was planning to wrap it for winter anyway, so I got a head start. I'm hoping when I take it down for summer he'll forget he wanted to be a goat as a chick.
