I believe this. My mom has cancer. She got the vaccine and unlike everyone else I know that got the shot, she had no reaction to it. No arm soreness, nothing. It’s anecdotal but I really think her body had no immune response. I have done research on what causes a person to feel side effects of the shot and it’s apparently your inflammatory response. So I think her body didn’t even notice.
kinda scary. Cause she is elderly, has a bad heart, over weight... etc.
I work in a hospital and so we got our first shot right before Christmas with the second dose 28 days later (Moderna) We were also a vaccination site and 2 of our clinics still are (Pfizer now).
I can tell you that it seemed the elder folks that took it did not have any of the side effects that the younger folks did. Most, if they were at least in their 60's, had no side effects.
So, is there a possibility that the vaccine did not cause an immune reaction in the elderly so the vaccine is not doing them any good, or some other explanation?? That I do not know.
I guess you could say that is not the case, or we would be spiking a lot of sick elderly people now, which we are not.
Or, it could be that the decrease in cases has nothing to do with the vaccine and it is just in a lull, or even running its course and slowing down on its own.
It will be interesting to see what transpires after this Memorial Day weekend, though. I, personally, think we will keep seeing the decrease, but we shall see.
Masks are my new reality. I don’t mind that others don’t believe in vaccines. I’m a semi reclusive hermit and the pandemic didn’t change much in my life other than wearing a mask. I social distance normally and I’m a compulsive handwasher (anyone working with chickens all day long should be). I continue to wear a mask because unmasked people in this area appear suspiciously stupid. Some claim that I should be able to glow in the dark and receive 5G signals in my head (free WiFi). Some say it’s a hoax while others wash their hands with straight bleach
I don’t want whatever they have. I kept my distance before the pandemic anyway and now have an extra layer of protection. I lost ten pounds after my second vaccine btw. It was very hard on this body. No one in my family had a worse reaction than I did and I’ll definitely get the annual booster. Yeah. I’m a good citizen
May the memory of all those we lost for the freedom to disagree and not go to war about it, be at the forefront of our attention this Memorial Day.
