I think the unvaccinated should carry the burdon of responsibility to keep their own self safe as much as possible and quit worrying about what everyone else does.
I feel like when someone kind of just randomly let's us all know about their supurb masking habits that it is a pretty safe assumption they are expecting to get lots of pats on the back and at a girl/boys.
The unvaccinated by and large prefer to pretend there's no reason anyone should get vaccinated. They don't strike me as very responsible people.

Masking probably doesn't do that much physically to limit the spread. But it's a constant visual reminder to social distance. No handshakes. No hugs. And no matter how well someone wears their mask, no pats on the back.

I just learned recently that peopld who've had organ transplants and are on immunosuppressants to prevent rejection, are not developing the antibodies that eould provide an immune response when they get the Covid vaccine. They remain just as vulnerable as if they never got the vaccine. I remember how careful we had to be during my first husband's treatment for leukemia while he was immunocompromised. It was actually kind of terrifying until there was evidence his new bone marrow was kicking in and starting to protect him. I know how vulnerable those people must feel, and how dependant they are on all the rest of us to do those things that will protect them: Wash your hands. Cover your cough. Keep your distance. And get the vaccine.
I believe this. My mom has cancer. She got the vaccine and unlike everyone else I know that got the shot, she had no reaction to it. No arm soreness, nothing. It’s anecdotal but I really think her body had no immune response. I have done research on what causes a person to feel side effects of the shot and it’s apparently your inflammatory response. So I think her body didn’t even notice.

kinda scary. Cause she is elderly, has a bad heart, over weight... etc.

She can get tested for antibodies. I hope she's okay. Please take good care of her snd just love her as much as you can. ❤

That’s a good idea, but I don’t want to freak her out. We just act like it’s still massive Covid season. She doesn’t go anywhere and nobody sick goes around her.

I work in a hospital and so we got our first shot right before Christmas with the second dose 28 days later (Moderna) We were also a vaccination site and 2 of our clinics still are (Pfizer now).
I can tell you that it seemed the elder folks that took it did not have any of the side effects that the younger folks did. Most, if they were at least in their 60's, had no side effects.
So, is there a possibility that the vaccine did not cause an immune reaction in the elderly so the vaccine is not doing them any good, or some other explanation?? That I do not know.
I guess you could say that is not the case, or we would be spiking a lot of sick elderly people now, which we are not.
Or, it could be that the decrease in cases has nothing to do with the vaccine and it is just in a lull, or even running its course and slowing down on its own.
It will be interesting to see what transpires after this Memorial Day weekend, though. I, personally, think we will keep seeing the decrease, but we shall see.

Older people almost certainly have a weaker immune response when vaccinated, but there's some data suggesting that the Moderna vaccine is still 80-90 percent effective in individuals 65+ and it seems unlikely that the Pfizer vaccine is less effective.

I believe the majority of people are still wearing them are doing it for the feel goods they are getting from being such a good citizen.
Hey. Good citizen here :frow Masks are my new reality. I don’t mind that others don’t believe in vaccines. I’m a semi reclusive hermit and the pandemic didn’t change much in my life other than wearing a mask. I social distance normally and I’m a compulsive handwasher (anyone working with chickens all day long should be). I continue to wear a mask because unmasked people in this area appear suspiciously stupid. Some claim that I should be able to glow in the dark and receive 5G signals in my head (free WiFi). Some say it’s a hoax while others wash their hands with straight bleach
 I don’t want whatever they have. I kept my distance before the pandemic anyway and now have an extra layer of protection. I lost ten pounds after my second vaccine btw. It was very hard on this body. No one in my family had a worse reaction than I did and I’ll definitely get the annual booster. Yeah. I’m a good citizen:love May the memory of all those we lost for the freedom to disagree and not go to war about it, be at the forefront of our attention this Memorial Day.
