The ‘I’ve Got The COVID Shot Club’!

Normally I don't reply to these kinds of threads, but in this case I decided to anyway. Four people in my family have gotten the shot. Of those four, three suffered terrible reactions. One became so sick from the first dose, he did not go for the second. One now has uncontrollable shaking in his hands and arms. The third has been in bed for two weeks because of pain and swelling in her legs.

I wouldn't get it our employee got it and started having heart problems he said he was heading here to work and he had to stop because he was so dizzy he couldn't even drive but that's just one person. up to you IMO

I'm contemplating on getting mine. I'm not a believer in getting a flu shot every year, but I also know Covid is bad and still here. My dad is in the hospital right now and has been in the hospital for 8 days on oxygen. Covid made him develop pneumonia as well. He is now getting the vaccine after being against them at first. We live in different states (I live in Arkansas and he in Texas) so I won't be in contact with him for at least a few more months/weeks. I just feel so bad for everyone that is affected by it and luckily my father is slowly recovering and trying to get sent home on oxygen (the doctor won't even let him leave because his oxygen levels won't rise above 80-85 without the oxygen).
My grandfather even got the shot after being against it because the effect it is having on everyone including my dad. A few weeks ago I think my husband and I got it because we had family from Missouri come down here and they tested positive a week before, we both ran fevers, couldn't breathe, and felt horrible for at least a week! But we didn't get tested (I've gotten tested before but I absolutely hate the test so I try not to get tested again if I can...)
I'm just worried about the side effects of the vaccination because I get extremely ill with a flu shot and I've heard conflicting arguments on both sides for so long! My mother is a nurse (she is divorced from my dad) and is STRONGLY against the vaccination, so it's hard to decide when I have a nurse mother that is very against it and thinks it is going to hurt a lot of people and then have a dad that was on the edge of dying when he was first admitted to the hospital because of covid. Ugh!! It's gotten so political that it's so hard to decide. But I don't care what side you're on, it's starting to get worse in my opinion and I really can't decide on what I want to do! 😔

Sorry for the long post, I just like hearing both sides and would love to hear what y'all think! I'm not biased so whether you get the vaccine or not, it should be your own choice.
So many people have a strong reason to either get it or refuse. You have reasons both ways, which is much more difficult.

I recommend getting it at the very least for the deep peace of mind you feel afterwards (of course I’d say that!). Either way —we’re all a bunch of random words on a webpage here, but we’ll respect and support your decision as much as random folks can!

I'm so sorry it seems some people have serious reactions and some just have pain in the arm its weird but I'm sorry that they are going through this

When I began kindergarten in the early 80’s, I had just finished all the shots needed for public school, and was soon diagnosed with Bell’s Palsy. I don’t really remember much besides going to a lot of doctors, specialists, and hospitals. Eventually the symptoms began to fade, but I have a mild facial imbalance (a bit droopy on left side), and I was left completely deaf on the left side. The doctors all swore it had no cause, it wasn’t the vaccines or anything else they could find. There was nothing wrong with me that they could find, but my face looked like it was melting on one side.

When some people began getting the covid vaccine and developed Bell’s palsy, it really lit a light bulb over my head. Then people started getting other symptoms, healthy athletes in their prime having heart attacks, dizzyness, pain and other issues. It’s a hard decision. I personally won’t be getting the shot because I can’t risk losing the hearing in my other ear and becoming deaf, I don’t have underlying medical conditions that put me at high risk of covid death, and I’ve weighed the risks of both sides. My children will not be getting the vaccine until we see the results over time. Most vaccines and medications go thru years of testing before being given to the masses, and I feel like the corners cut in the testing phase might bite us in the butt later on.

I don’t fault anyone else for making their own decisions, especially people with conditions that put them at higher risk from covid, but tbh I have a family member who weighs over 400 pounds, they talk all the time about how at risk they are due to their weight, but covid has been happening for over a year and they have made no effort to lose weight or exercise and eat better, even though they had plenty of extra free time to do so, so why should I risk serious illness so they can feel safer being around me? My feeling is that everyone who wants it should get it, everyone who doesn’t want it should not, but now they’re talking about needing vax cards to travel and shop. I’m worried that in 10 years I’ll be seeing those lawyer commercials that say “did you or a loved one suffer severe or life threatening side effects from the covid vaccine? Call our offices now for a free consultation...”

I'm so sorry that happened to you. I'm glad you're doing better now.
I completely agree with you. If people want to get the shot, that's fine. They can go right ahead. But if I don't want to get it, I should not be forced and ridiculed into doing it.

Not getting it. Not going to be forced to get it. Not going to be guilted into getting it. If i die from covid then i guess it was my time to go to heaven. Not putting poison in my arm out of fear. And thats what it is : fear, deception, and sorcery (pharmakai). Keep listening to the media and the government lie to you.
