Baby quail hatching today! A bit later than usual. So far one hatched and one pipped. This means the other chicks need to go out to the barn. Hope to sell some Saturday.

For those new to hatching;
Remember to start up your incubator a day early to be sure temp and humidity is right before settling your eggs!! Don’t wait until hatch day to start it up.

Ok, I know I said I would not set any duck eggs but both of my rouen hens started laying so I am setting 8 today.

I set 8 turkey eggs today. My friend can't get duck eggs to me till next week so oh well.

Yay! Yeppers, gonna set a batch of standard & bantam eggs from our mixed flock in our ReptiPro on March 30th, hatch day *should* be April 20th-21st...of course, the banty eggs will NO DOUBT hatch a day or so early, like they *love* to do.

Every year we do a live webcast of our hatch on YouTube called 'Chickam', this will be our 11th year of broadcasting the hatch! After they hatch, the webcast continues 24/7 for the next 8 weeks of the chicks' lives, so you can tune in any time and see CHICKS. Because of banty eggs tending to hatch early, I always suggest people check our YouTube channel a day or so early: if you see eggs, the hatch is on!
We let our viewers name the chicks, so suggestions are welcomed! We draw names out of a hat as each chick is hatched. These are chickens, so the sillier and more needlessly grandiose the name, the better--but we've been doing this for so long that obvious names such as 'Dinner' and 'Burger' were taken long ago. Please join us and toss out grandly silly chicken names, BYC peeps!
