Can I add 2 hummingbird eggs to my total eggs set? Their mama is broody :celebrate
This nest is on a mobile I have hanging on my front porch. Not sure how long the nest has been there but we'll be keeping our eyes on it to see if we can catch babies for pics.

Oh my gosh!! Please keep us up to date I've always wanted to see a humming bird nest! You should definitely snap a picture of Mommy and Daddy too if you can!

Candled a few of my eggs this evening. About 30 of my chicken eggs tossed 3 clears.
About 20 quail all were veining.

The turkeys eggs I set a week late only 2 of the 6 were fertile. But those were the first eggs they laid.

Yay good luck with your turkey eggs were getting close to setting our first turkey eggs as well. They started 6 days ago and today was our first two egg day which means more than just one of my ladies is laying!

What are your turkeys? I have calicos and blue slates. We will also shortly be getting a miscellaneous nargansett jenny that I will put with my calico pair.

My set is down to 36 eggs, mostly due to infertility, even in the shipped eggs. I expected that in my girls' eggs, as they are young and just started laying in January. And I took the boys to auction the Saturday before the set date. However, I really don't need any more chickens at this time, lol. But I haven't incubated since November, and I just couldn't resist the urge to join the EHAL!

The one double yolker egg still has 2 viable, bouncing embryos. :fl
I am not holding my breath for the twins, though.
Good luck everyone!

Good luck with the double yolker :fl

My duccle hen has decided she didn’t want to be left out of the April hatch. She let me know by a nice bite when I went to take eggs. I’ve had a lot going on and so haven’t been taking the eggs out like I should.

I will candle tonight to see how far along they are but I don’t think more than 4-5 days.

Good news is that if they aren’t developed I will take them and keep giving her fresh eggs and when my current ones hatch give her a couple of those babies. With 7 from my March hatch (keeping 3 maybe 4) and 7 in the incubator (ok 8 but I’m not counting that one yet ) I don’t really need anymore chicks.:wee

Just pulled 14 of the 23 banty eggs. Gave them almost two weeks but no development. After the first candling I should of pulled them I guess. Only one Blue Cochin out of 12 eggs is developing. The rest are Silver Duckwing and Ameracauna.
The Ancona Duck eggs are down from 22 to 14 developing. Some were doing good, but after the second candling, some had quit and a few had the blood ring. The lady Im incubating them for had them shipped. So 14, I think, is pretty good. Sure hope they all hatch but you just dont know til hatch day.
She should contact the seller of the eggs and let them know about the clears. The rooster may not be doing his job
