Anything happening in the turkey bator?

Woke up this morning to five recently hatched chicks and signs of more pipping/zipping.

Congrats on the new pips and chicks everyone! To everyone still waiting hang in there! It's most likely still early yet.

I got about 4 hours of sleep (after putting in earplugs) and woke to find 8 fluffy butts in the bator!
The humidity took a nosedive sometime during that so when I cracked the lid to add some water I pulled the egg I thought had suffocated to confirm. Sadly she had passed. Still no movement or pips in the oddly developed egg and the pipped Sebright made no progress other than being kicked around. I went ahead and wrapped her in a warm damp rag and propped her up so she doesn't get kicked around anymore and can hopefully hatch in peace at her own rate. She was chirping away so I have high hopes she'll be fine with time even though she pipped the wrong end.
Now back to bed for a couple more hours since I have no obligations today. Lol

Yay, all eggs that we expected to hatch (8) did. My daughters are especially excited about the eggs we hatched from our favorite hen, a bantam silkie/Cochin. They are super cute!

Yes, the first baby is out! I quickly shut off the turner, dang i am always forgetting something....there is another egg with external pip and the poults are talking to each other

Last night i had a dream that all of the turkey eggs had hatched! I hope that dream comes true.
Congrats to all with new babies and sorry to those with losses.

18 of 29 eggs locked down a couple days ago. Had really hoped for better fertility but I can only do so much in that department. I've supplemented light, added vitamins and trimmed vents. Maybe broody hens will yield me some Wyandottes later or I'll fire up the incubator and try this fall. Still happy to have 12 of the 18 New Hampshires and Dominiques now pipped on this day 20.
