Chill babies... chill!

I was concerned about being too tall, I didn’t want to measure with the eggs in so I just guessed. That was my first problem. And in my estimations, I certainly forgot to account for leapfrogging over other eggs. :he

I was super pleased with how easy it was to get in and out and get this one from my middle compartment, so I’ll just continue to monitor and pull when it feels right.

Good luck!

Thanks! It's finally dark in the room, so hopefully they're done trying to give me a heart attack for now. :p Looks like the last egg is opening up its pip further now, so I should be able to get them out of there later tonight, I hope. :fl

Did people set eggs early? There is a lot of hatching already.

Mine were set on March 30th at noon, just like the first post said. No idea why they hatched a day early, unless my freshly calibrated thermometers went wonky pretty fast! :p

Hatched 16 of 17 that went to lockdown. I have a buff Orpington rooster over BO girls, what were bought as white leghorn but lay brown eggs, and some Easter eggers that lay blue eggs. The chicks were not what I was expecting as there are not as many Orpington looking chicks so will be fun to see what they grow into!

Mine were set on the 30th, too, between noon and 12:30. I have one pip tonight, but it's just a crack, not a full hole, yet.

I was going to say the same thing earlier and then poof I’ve got three! Set at 1:00 pm on the 30th.

All of my birds out are the same breeder, and all the ones with pips (4 more pipped) are the same breed. (Legbars) the rest are just sitting there.

I’m pretty sure most of the ones yesterday were bantams? Today’s are just early birds!
