Yes! We have small finch's around here. They accumulate everywhere! Darts is a great expression.

I could never imagine catching one of those things, they're like darts, there one minute, gone the next. It's a guessing game trying to figure out when they'll surface.

That must be amazing, your description reminds me of the time I saw small birds flitting around the plants at some national park I was at once. They hum, like crickets.

I sort of want a finch, or some other small bird. Perhaps a canary. One day. :p

Yes, they do hum don't they? We have a lot of extra brush and such, many, many feet high. The birds like to nest in them, and every time I walk by one I hear the swoosh and clitterings of birds flying out.
A canary would be interesting, lol. But I'm sticking with chickens.

I've always had a soft spot for small birds. Chickens are beautiful and funny to cuddle, but having a canary would absolutely rule!
I see many of them in small, bare cages, and would make an attempt to give the bird a more interesting environment to live in.
